Ditto on the running away part.

As to the rest of it - well, it appeals to my somewhat twisted sense of humor and, at the same time, comes with the feeling that it is a very legitimate interpretation.

It strikes me as poetic that two people who care so much can say in all honesty "I don't care". Scripture is - it doesn't depend on the rightness of my interpretation for its power - it just is what God intended it to be.

Hug and sigh... I loved it! Jonah is my role model. Not by choice, but that is how i got into the ministry, by running away.

When i first read jonah, in the unchurched vacuum in which i came to know God, I figured a whale shark ingested him. I always thought he was dead for the trip, as from the "mu soul fainted" comment. also 3 days in a fish just is not healthy. Then i read Jesus's words. Mat 16:4 "An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign; and a sign will not be given it, except the sign of Jonah." And He left them and went away.

Made sense to me. Dead 3 days. What else could it mean? Also when he was puked up on shore he looked real bad. If you want to get a city to repent, send a partially digested guy to talk for you.

Just my thoughts, And into this fight I am going to step and say, “I don’t care.”, me too.
